If you are referring to personal use alcohol, and not a load you're hauling with the proper permits, it is illegal. It will be classified as an alcohol related offense in a CMV, and you'll be unhireable.

I remember lady driver went to Canada and was involved in a minor accident state side.She was in big trouble for having a bottle of canadian whiskey unopened in the cab.she bought it for a gift.It hit the news that she had liquer in the truck.

 

You're not supposed to store it where it rolls out when you stop!

I don't have an issue with someone carrying a bottle with them>Just keep it well hidden!
