Grrrr getting tired of getting run out of hours at the shippers. Get a preplan to pick up 2 coils in New Carlisle IN and deliver to Talladega Al. I got yelled at for asking another driver a question due to i was not sure on something when loading shotgun. They threatened to not load me due to i have never hauled a coil Shotgun. Thankfully the other driver was really helpfull and answered all my questions.

But here is what tops it all off. the BOL says I'am going to TN. Night dispatch is so helpfull i tell ya. Guess its good i cant drive anywhere and stuck in there parking lot.

    Sick of today

Don't worry man it will get better. In cases like those night dispatch can't help. They don't have the resources (so they say). Take a 10 and relax brotha.

Some times the shipper will do a last minute adjustment to the load for that specific product. Pretty rare, usually it's stops getting removed or added without customer service knowing. That one has been the most common to me.

That or customer service entered the wrong consignee customer code. I've had that happen but never far distances.

However getting yelled at part... That crap would of got under my skin.

I want to deck the crane operator that started in on me how i shouldn't be doing this if i have to ask a question. only thing that stopped me was he was 6 feet above me on a platform.

In my opinion if i cant ask questions than I'am being unsafe. If i don't know I'am going to ask.

Those are the most dangerous people. They think they know what they are doing when they don't. And I also can't stand when people put you down for not knowing something. If you don't know you don't know. I too ask when I don't know something.

    Lantern Thanks this.

To be fair, most coil places expect you to know how to do it or they won't load you. I think that all trainees need to be exposed to a coil load like that during training. It doesn't always work that way. One guy I trained we didn't haul a single coil, the next guy, we hauled about 6 coil loads.

These coils are really dangerous if not properly secured, and the mills expect you to know how to do it before you come there for one. I don't think it's a failing on your part though, I think it's a failing on the part of the training program. You can read about how to secure coils all day long, but until you actually see it done and do it, it doesn't sink in.
