This thread is yet another fine example of why I will never ever drive for a company that uses DAC.

I am sure some youhoo is going to come along and tell me that DAC is a good thing and impossible to avoid, I have been driving since the 1990s and have never drove for a company that uses it yet nor will I ever. But I am a man of principle.

There is a national shortage of truck drivers already. When enough of us drivers band together and tell companies no, we will not drive for you because you use that system, this will eventually put the message out. However, trying to get people to work together is like trying to herd a bunch of cats.

I understand that the DAC system could potentially be used for good, I have seen a lot of idiotic truck drivers over the years and still do every day who abandoned their trucks or refuse to check the oil etc. however there is no incentive to keep a company from giving you a black eye when you quit. It seems like all the threads that I have read in this forum over the last year are loaded with complaints of falsified DAC from companies who hurt them just because they moved on.

I agree with midianlord, some of the worst I have ever dealt with pride themselves on being family owned and operated. It seems to me they may have once been decent to work for but once the old-guard moves out and the new blood comes in they treat drivers like crap. Not to say they are all bad but it's definitely a red flag, for me anyway.

it's either you're in or out, depending if you are part of the family. Take a look a family businessess--there is huge turnover EXCEPT for blood or married-ins

I went to their website and they sound awesome, perhaps the best company I have ever seen. I'm going to immediately enter a Lease/Purchase with them.

Wrong there are many good smaller companies out there that don't use DAC.

Ive worked for bullies. EcKMiller shorted my miles once for a few months until the savings ran out and I quit. State unemployment took on the case determined that they were at fault for deliberately failing to assign normal miles per established court law previously questioned in their experience. EcKMiller lost the case and was assessed costs. I got the full unemployment and then some.

I found myself black listed to the point of not doing any work in the midwest, I still am black listed there. Pffth big deal. There may have also been additional losses to anyone in Maryland trying to hire on with them too, they just wont be because the State is hostile to them. So it's a big mess. I did learn to always build savings so that if dispatch starves you out, you exist burning their fuel for weeks, months etc laying around the truckstop looking for other work. It costs them too much money (And you money too...) all around to feed a truck rather than just fire you. A large percentage of drivers do not have any savings. So they lose. EcKMiller is actually part of a billion dollar company that runs around 350,000 loads a year so.. a few tens of thousands in fuel lost don't hurt them none.

I worked around the DAC destruction by simply hiring onto a friend's dumptruck outfit and went paving a while. Stone too. Its interesting running a 1950's dodge flatbed pickup hauling 15000 pounds of stone on a three speed column shift. Loved that thing. Did hay too, big rolls on a farm. I actually prospered until Arkansas hired me into OTR. So... whatever it is a bad company can do to you or anyone is only temporary. You keep going in spite of them.

I don't have any problems with them anymore. They did their worst and ultimately it's just drama best thrown away and forgotten. Milk under the bridge where it goes sour. I don't talk about them too much, but when someone raises a case of bullying and black listing, yes it exists in this industry. You can either sit and cry that everything #### on the rain or you can man up and get off the porch and get going. I say you get going.
