This is why we always tell people to buy a flatbed, a step or Conestoga does not typically pay better to warrant the extra costs involved. And I don't think you can permit for over height with a divisable load.
-
14' is legal height out here aparantly. thats what the permit guru is telling me anyways. ibpicked a doosey for my first os
-
What is the cost difference between getting a permit for the 11'9" and just gettin 11'11"?
-
14' is the leagl height out west, and most states till you hit the Missippi river, then it goes down to 13'6" typically.
And I ran into the same issue with my straps. Those OS tankes were 10'5" tall and 11' wide. I had about 1' of stap left to get them hooked down, thankfully. -
This load was booked for a stepdeck, which is what i now have
-
Steps with Conestogas are not common, but they are out there.
-
i dont know the cost difference, not much as long as its under 12' i believe. problem is they messed up in the first place and didnt order my local city permit and they cant get it now. personally i dont care, i am looking at the on.ramp amd that permit is.just to get me there. but.now that they know.it they wont let me run for it.
the load was sold for two units, they want to load thre units and wont pay me any more money.
they asked me to wait till monday to load when they could get the permit but then i would hit the holiday travel restriction and i would have about 10.5 days invested in what was a cheap load to begin with imo.
i cancelled the load and took the $250 tonu. now i get to sit out here till monday at least, probably later -
I'm confused is the load its self going to be 12' tall? Or onced loaded on the trailer?
OK is the only state out west that sticks with 13'6" the rest allow 14'
Better go buy some 40' straps -
the load on my trl would be 13' 11" tall to be exact.
i took myself off the load, i dont much apprectate booking one load and having try to put two loads on my truck telling me they booked the truck and they will load whatever they want on it. pretty much everything after that doesnt matter i was gone. it barely paid enough at 10k lbs and nice and low. i would be a fool to haul it for the same money at 20k lbs and that tall. and to be honest i believe they were a whole lot heavier then they were saying too.
so back to the thread
i am back at ontario east. may as well buy a burial plot and a headstone here
