I don't think anyone said anything about snowyy's right to complain or say anything for that matter. Punky74 just said that he didn't like the kind of complaining that snowyy was engaged in. And, I don't care for it much either for that matter. Not because it offends me in some way, but because it is non-constructive for anyone, especially snowyy. It seems to me that you are the one attacking the rights of Punky74 to say how he feels because he isn't a driver. Which at the heart of it has nothing to do with what he was saying. It isn't just drivers who go through hardship or make decisions that they wish they hadn't. I just wish Punky74 had been a little more conciliatory towards snowyy, who obviously could use some encouragement.
You all have my permission, should I ever express a hopeless attitude and not respond to encouragement to give me a swift kick in the pants.
Hopefully this concludes (or soon concludes) this interlude and we can get back to trucking.

I and many of the other drivers here want to help. Ask questions and be respectful, but don't be suprised at the reactionson when that respect is not given. -
I was trying to get a simple equasion, thus not including all the axullary pay. You could also include $16/30/hr (company/ O/O) for lumping your own trailer.
So in adjusting the simplified estimation of maximum income from Central refrigerated for company solo drivers during their first 5 months.
8.5hr per day X 60 MPH X 365 days X 30cpm (adding 2cpm for the ontime and safety bonus) = $55,845
I'm seeing dedicated accounts accepting drivers at 3+mo exp so that is an option. I know farmland offers 34-38cpm but the drivers are only getting 2300-2900mi/wk
I agree these numbers are not going to happen, and don't include trucks breaking down. I was just trying to point out that 100k was not a possibility to a company driver
Hope that helps -
What you do as a lease operator is still pretty far removed from what someone does under their own authority and perhaps not as lucrative as what might be earned under a specialty carrier. Saying that was not meant to impune your point, only to add to it since I thought the discussion was more broad.
Just to be clear, I respect and have enjoyed your posts in this thread and have found them rather informative, more informative than most in fact. I'm sorry if you construed my post not convey such respect, but I'm a pretty direct person when writing and am not afraid to convey my own thoughts on a subject if I think they are relevant. I guess its a flaw in my style since while rare you are not the first to misinterpret my intentions. -

Its the overnight trips, delivering in the morning, reloading in the afternoon and running again all night series of trips I always lamented...days with next to no sleep. After a couple of weeks like that I remember picking up a load that picked up near Chicago and delivered the next day in Baltimore (I know, you probably can't get away with a trip like that today). On that trip I remember entering Pennsylvania and I remember seeing the sign that I was leaving but for the life of me I couldn't remember anything in between...and I had to change highways in the state. I don't long for times like that and I hope I don't see a lot of that at Central, but we'll see. -
Btw, on time is .01 but safety is some mysterious value. I think it's less for co drivers, but my safety bonuses were ~$515 last quarter. I honestly have no idea where that number comes from, but I was happy to stuff it in my pocket.
Detention definitely cuts miles, but if you do a lot of drop and hook short haul can still keep your miles up there. Unfortunately for company guys you have to do <300 to get it. It's a little better at 600 miles for l/o.
