    West Texas.

Trainee woke me up to ask about head first parking. I quickly explained the complications and possible problems. I determine, in this case it was fine.

we come back from breakfast to see two examples of the dangers of parking head first into a "curbed"spot. One guy is staring at his bumper detached on the ground, the other guy is desperately trying to wedge his bumper back up and over the curb.

Both guys were parked next to us on each side.

    Trainee: wow!

    me: Yep.

My thought is that if you know how to properly park then do it. I teach my students how to back, I call pull in parkers, PIP's pull in p---ies.
Teach him the righ way, You already had two great examples, Don't be embarrassed

Wait until it's your metal involved. The first time one of these idiots takes out your front-end there's a 50-50 chance the truck will never drive down the road straight again - coupled with massively increased operating costs for three-axle alignments, tire rotations, and very reduced steer-tire life. In other words... it's cheaper to go through the expense of getting rid of a tractor and buying a new one after some jackwad wrecks your truck in a parking accident. On the other hand, I have no problem with one of Robert's trailers taking a hit after I pull-in head first. Usually a better view that way too!

Remember... that'll be YOUR money flying out the window, not Prime's. All because we want to be ideologically pure about how we park our truck, so we can laugh about the guys who might just be doing something to protect their investments.

Oh yeah... and I've seen OUR guys do exactly that to other folk's equipment... pulling a trailer over the front of a tractor "properly parked" that requires two wreckers to get the trailer off of it. That driver looked totally violated, and massively pissed! Our truckin' ace of a driver probably was lucky he didn't get himself beaten to death.

Rest area south of DC... headed for Florence KY in a little while.

Seen a guy at Petro Atlant this morning pulled in and trying to get back out to leave this AM. Three other drivers were guiding him to get out of the spot, Embarrassing
