Anyone have any resources for parts to make my cb look newer again? I guess I'm thinking replacement faceplate and knobs. Prefer the original look and fonts.

Cb is Cobra 148 GTL (side mic, 1993)

Also what is the best type of mic for this cb? Currently I just have a "Trucker Series" power mic because when the old mic went out that was the only thing I could find in the truck stop with 5 pins.

Good mics....Roadking 56 or Skythumper ST-65DX....or Astatic 636L. All of these are noise cancelling mics. No need for a power mic on a 148 as there's an RF gain which does the same thing...well you can run a power mic if you want, you just gotta make sure you don't turn either up too high or you'll just distort and squeal all over the air.

Otherwise, one power mic I like is the Astatic 575-M6 as they give a very rich power audio on the lower end of the control...but be prepared to pay a pretty penny for one.

They do make CB mic adapters that adapt a 5 pin mic over to a 4 pin mic. I have one here at the house I don't even use anymore.

Not sure who makes replacement faceplates that look like originals. I can tell you a few places that sell confederate flag faceplates. :biggrin_25525:
