I think you'd be in pretty good shape then. Tmobile has pretty decent coverage on those routes, the only exception being some lackluster coverage on 20 between Monroe and Shreveport, LA. The other dead spots I encountered were off the main roads, where one might expect problems in coverage.

A deal for ATT to acquire T-mobile has been recently finalized and by mid to late 2013 T-Mobile customers will be on par with current ATT customers, for better or for worse. All in all, I think it will help improve ATT's network, but T-Mobile customers my not like the loss of certain features that will surely happen.

The feds killed the acquisition. ATT forgot that there are a lot of senior congressmen who remember breaking up Ma Bell the first time.

It's not an app he's using. It's part of Android from Ice Cream Sandwich on found in the settings of the phone/tablet. It tells you all of your data usage until you reset it and breaks it down for you.

True, but I read somewhere (I think Bloomberg) a few months ago, a new deal is going to be repackaged and re-presented to the FCC. It will happen and it will happen probably next year. Once you grease the right wheels, it's all downhill from there.

Millenicom, 20gb soft cap(as in, don't use 40GB and they wont say anything/throttle/charge) on the Verizon network.

I've been using it for years and love it, you can find more info in the electronics sub-forum.

Keep in mind that the Obama administration led the fight against the merger. ATT might have tried again provided Romney took over the Whitehouse but I seriously doubt they'll try again with him still in office. I think Deutsche Telekom knew it wouldn't fly, that's why they wrote such favorable terms if the government blocked the merger.

I used Millenicom for a few years and liked it. I thought that they no longer have "unlimited" data, which you might as well call 40GB unlimited...
