Yea I remember my dad used to drive for them in the 70's n early 80's. I remember him always running hard n staying out 3-4 weeks at a time. I would ride w him kid n needless to say... I thought it was scary hauling the carcasses that would move the truck back n forth. Also, i remember they trucks would tear i-40 n i-55 up running 85 plus down the road.I miss trucking so much n still haul cattle for family or friends. I'm a engineer for the railroad nowadays, however, I wish trucking companies were fair to their employees n treated em w respect. I have to raise a family... If they did I would still be driving

Cannon Express from Springdale Ar. They didn't have the best equipment on the road, but they were a true 48 state carrier and I learned the ropes there. When I started there in 96' they would still run you as hard as you'd let them. One terminal, small enough company that you met a lot of the drivers at customers, fuel stops amd crossing paths that they actually seemed like co-workers. Unlike today, where you pass a company truck on a 2 lane road and the driver doesn't even wave.
Veteran driver and desperado75 Thank this. -
