I am after some suggestions for a good Christmas present. My girlfriend asked me what I want for Christmas this year but I can't think of what I want. We each buy one present and it's what they want not what we choose for them. This way you get something you can use and not something that's a waste of money. I have no idea what to ask for, the budget is no more than $500.I would like something for my truck or something I can use on the road. I don't need electronic things as I have no inverter. I have a good multitool allready and sat radio and a gps. I have basic tools in the truck so don't need them. I would love a new seat but that's way over the budget. $500 doesn't buy much in the chrome shop so truck bling is out. I told her to just save the money but she wants to buy something. Help me with some suggestions of things you would want for use on the road or in your truck or on your truck etc!
What would make a good Christmas present?

IMHO--Get the Seat!--You spend more time in it than anywhere else--ok it is over y'alls agreed upon budget--so go get the seat YOU want--pay for it and let her give you the 500
Just my $.02mama mia Thanks this. -
That's what I was thinking as well. My truck is 8 years old and has the original seat so it could do with a new one. I thought of getting it re upholstered with new padding as well.

Talk to your local truck dealers alot of guys put low stool wide ride seats in brand new trucks, they sell the takeouts for cheap. If you want a wide ride they are only 699.00 at my local KW dealer, take her 500 and add the difference out of your pocket.
kw9's rock Thanks this. -
The new seat upgrade would be the best idea really, your life is spent in the truck and you need to be comfortable in the process. If it's your truck why don't you have an inverter in it, then you can use a microwave and refrigerator.

An inverter could save you money and help make things easier on the road. A refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, etc., could be useful and save you money on the road and be within your budget.

I haven't put an inverter and fridge etc in yet as I'm on a tight budget. I have a cooler and keep a few days food in that. A good inverter and a good fridge adds up to a chunk of change . I get by with the cooler and a lunchbox cooker to heat up food with. In time I will add the luxury items to my truck. We both just decided to go halves in some furniture for our apartment so the gifts are off for this year. Maybe next year I will get a nice gift. I would rather her be comfortable at home with some furniture than just buy me a gift I can manage without. My butt will last another year until I can afford a seat!

Well that is a good compromise since it is hard to stretch money in 50 directions. Maybe just a good new seat cushion would help. We did have one of the heat/vibrating cushions that was really nice; it could plug in in the house or the cigarette lighter. -
I would still recommend the inverter. I use a cobra cpi 2575, 5000 watts, it does everything I need. I paid about $250 or so off of amazon (not including wires/fuses). Many times all I want in the morning is oatmeal or in the evenings have those just add boiling water and you have decent soup. If I was a coffee drinker that would also be a big plus. It paid for itself very quickly for me.
