http://www.iowaatlantic.com/lease-on.html
This almost describes something I was talking about on another thread, about running on someone else's authority. This carrier pays 90% but must have own trailer, and it looks like they charge $130/week for cargo ins.
What do you O/O think of this company?
Thanks!
What do you think about this carrier?

Glitch, wrong forum, sorry....
-
I tried MANY times trying to contact them about leasing on. I used the form on their website, email, and called and left messages; never talked to a human or got a reply.....
-
Really...I used the form on their website to ask some questions about what insurances they supply and which the O/O needs, and if they provide fuel cards.
-
Have you checked with Farm2Fleet ? BigBadBill from this forum owns the company, I think their deal is kind of what you talked about, but you'd have to get the details direct.
-
I was not sure about what exactly Bill's company does. I guess I could check out his website.
I am just not sure he would be comfortable taking on a new O/O with only 3 years xp, although my record is perfect. He's highly respected here, he must have high standards. -
Yep!! I was worried about putting my DL# and SS# on the form........
I just filled it out again just to see if I'd get a reply now even though I dont need it right now
-
And why don't you need it right now? Who are you with?
I'm been searching exhaustively for O/O opportunities, as I now have enough saved up for a down payment on a truck + registration and plates, and the highway tax.
I am just not comfortable owning a truck and only making $1500 profit a week - I'd need a bit more than that to justify the risk, you know?
And I'm not comfortable working on a % system if I can't be sure I'm getting 80% of actual, or 80% of what they tell me...
I'll supply the insurance (except cargo), I may be willing to purchase a trailer, but I don't have $15,000 in fuel to last for 6-8 weeks before I got paid, and I really don't want to get my own authority yet anyhow.
I just wish it were easier to find a good opportunity. -
$1,500 a week profit is plenty of money to run an operation on. Profit is what you have left over AFTER all your cost and overhead is paid.
-
I am including my pay in my profit calculation, if I am a one truck operation. So $1500 would be my pay included, that's not enough.
