Nothing surprises me with the government. It is there, just no funds. All it takes is for them to spend it.
If all of the company trucks get this, I expect, the ATA will be pushing hard.
Just hope you are right.

I'm sure this won't be popular....But the EOBR IMHO could be the company driver's best friend.....
How many of you company drivers check in to your PU/DO and you have to sit for hours?
How many of you don't get paid Detention Time?
That EOBR ticks away and logs that time you guys sit and "Donate"......
Just something to consider......Roadmedic Thanks this. -

I am a driver. I drive local in the midwest. I work 60-65 hours a week Mon-Fri. I'm in Chicago several times a week but I sleep at home every night. For the reasons I stated above, I don't talk about my level of experience other than to say that I've got enough experience to get any driving job I would be interested in pursuing. Which is to say, I've got more than 2 years and less that 20.
Now the way I see it, I can get mad about them coming or I can not care. I choose not to care because I don't believe anything I could do would change the outcome. If and when I end up with one in my truck, I will see what impact if any it actually ends up having on my day to day driving experience and quality of life. If there is an impact, and if its not to my liking, I will then consider pursing some other career field.
Its been my experience that drivers tend to be people who want their industry to be as unregulated as possible. So I understand why y'all would want to prevent EOBR's becoming mandatory and I don't begrudge you wanting to try. But I call a spade a spade so when there are people talking about how this petition will be effective because 1 million people will sign it but it has yet to get even 0.1% of the required minimum of 25,000 signatures, well you'll have to excuse me if I say that I have my doubts about how effective its going to be.
That is not me being for what you're against. That is me saying what you're doing isn't likely to be effective. That is reality and I think the sooner y'all accept it, the sooner some of you might be motivated to go back the drawing board and find something you can do that might end up being more effective for your cause. I think you're fishing in a pond that has no fish and using a hook that has no bait with this thing. Therefore I encourage any and all who really want to try and stop EOBR's to find a pond with fish in it and find some really good bait for their hook and try fishing that way.
That's reality. Nothing more nothing less. But clearly no one here wants to hear that. Seems most here only want to hear comments from those who can ignore the reality of the situation as easily as themselves. In other words its yes men or nothing for you guys. So I apologize for trying to point out some very obvious realities. I can't promise I won't do it again, but I promise I'll think about trying. -
But far be it from me to suggest something that benefits employees...... -

ACA or "ObamaCare" is not just about "healthcare"....It has many hidden taxes and regulations in it...After all...Pelosi had Congress vote on it before they even read the ##### thing.... -
