Really? New co-driver

Oh we have been on some wild u-turns too, but wouldn't recommend it. The company that he drives for now I guess has some way of tracking and taking a picture from the sky with you doing it. Got called by safety, still driving, and you know it may come up again somewhere.

 

I worked at a Permit office in Lake Station in the 80's and a kid was left behind by the parent; it seems like it was several hours before they returned. And then when I was working at a Gulf station in MS, a car left their boy behind, he was sleeping too when they came in and didn't check to make sure he was still there. This was in the days before cell phones and then to try to get ahold of a family member was hard also. They were taken care of till the parents showed back up, cocoa and stuff like that. I believe the police who patrolled the area around Welch Oil were notified on the first one, do that nowdays and the kid would be most likely put in child services. I know the parents must have been having a heart attack though. I can't imagine what a child would do if they were left at some of these rest areas which do not have a manned building, scary thought. Too it must be put in a kids head that they go nowhere without a parent so they must stay in the truck or car until the parent returns. And boys don't go to mens bathrooms anywhere without a parent, I'd rather they use the women's bathroom if a daddy isn't around to go with them.

 

We never did it. Heard of it happening and my grandpa was organizing expanding the lot at his church a while back. It's not cheap, that's why it's so thin. That's all they can afford to put down.

There's a lot of other places like that too. Even places like some WalMarts only have it thick enough for trucks where the trucks actually come in. So they don't ban trucks from parking off the lot just because of trash left or whatever. That section you're parked on may be too thin to support you properly.

Welcome to trucking 101, Matt! It's good that you can roll with the punches, because drivers have to do a LOT of that.

What does the company say about the situation?

 

Backing into an Intersection with a Co-Driver is a Good thing.
There are good things about Team Driving, Example: Backing and Chaining up. Just think about the time you Chained up in a Whiteout in Truckee and wished you had a Co-Driver.

 

I ran teams twice in my driving career, the first guy lasted about 3 months, till i couldnt take his farting nasty #####, and his feet smelled so bad lol!! The second guy was my best friend Hitman Hen, The only co-driver I could actually fall asleep in the bunk and not worry about us ending up in the bush!!! He got out of trucking and is now working on the rail road.. So nomore co pilots for me, I single handedly turn all the miles!!

 

I know you wished for them to recycle him to someone else as their team mate. Geez how many chances do give a person.
