Been browsing around the Maverick forum and still have some questions about the Glass Division:
-Do you receive the same mileage pay whether you are pulling glass or not? (I know some companies change the rate based on what you pull.)
-Do you carry different size tarps? Is it a flat pay rate for throwing a tarp, or is it different for lumber and steel tarps?
-I read somewhere that glass drivers do not get paid extra for crossing the border, is that accurate? (That post was a couple years old.)
-What is the home time like for this division? I live near Geneva, NY and figure I would be past the house pretty frequently.
-I have flatbed experience, but not with glass. Is going out with a trainer mandatory for new glass haulers?
I think that is it for now. Maverick definitely has my attention, and I am hoping to get their's. I have all my endorsements including the NYS Metal Coil, a TWIC card, passport/enhanced driver's license, and my Alabama Metal Coil Certification. I am really excited about the prospect of getting back on the road! Thanks in advance!

Hey Banger! I think I can only answer one or two of your questions, and still not 100% sure cuz I do FB not Glass, but maybe Seawheeler will see this thread and respond.
I believe you get same mileage pay no matter what your freight. And I would take a guess that GH's probably have 2 sizes of tarps, Glass Tarps and Steel Tarps- maybe a couple of lumber tarps too, but not sure....
You will be very impressed with Maverick and the way the company is run and a majority of the drivers here.
Seawheeler! Care to chime in?? -
You can check with recruiting and they can tell you the 411.
We don't have too many glass haulers on the boards but maybe one can't answer your questions. -
I saw this post earlier this week but didn't have my laptop with me and just too much to enter with my thumbs. Hope this helps.
