I know several people who got local jobs right out of school. The jobs are there, you must be persistant to get them though. I've never had a local job, but never wanted one either. I prefer OTR with no Canada or NYC. Congratulations to you for your success.

AfterShock, ATX and crdugan75 Thank this.

Thank you for the replies. After looking around for my whole first year driving looking for the next step, it seemed like the best money was close to home. Most of the food and beverage companies around here are union and pay quite well. Thats not including the Boeing crowd either, those guys get to haul some interesting stuff. Im not sure how long I'll drive for Coke, but its my home for now. If anyone is looking in the NW area and willing to sweat a bit here are a few good locals that hire regularly and most of them pay $20+ an hour with good bene's.
Coke, Pepsi, Columbia, Sysco, FSA, Boeing, Anhauser Busch (im sure I spelled that wrong), Odom, and there are plenty more good ones out there. Apply online to every opening they post for drivers, they notice persistent applicants.

    AfterShock Thanks this.
