Starting at Super Service LLC.

Well, Here I am. After going through all the hard work of trucking school, and passing my CDL exam, I'm ready to start getting paid for the driving I do!
I'd been thinking long and hard about where I was gonna go. My MVR and criminal background are clean as a whistle, and after asking a few family drivers and consulting with some drivers in this forum, it came down to two: Schneider and Super Service. I decided to go with Super Service for a few reasons that sounded good to me.

-$2500 sign on bonus (and yes, that's for student drivers as well. I'll take a bonus!)
-No forced NYC dispatch
-Minimum daily and weekend pay (which I still have yet to find out how much that pay is, but hey it's better than nothin!)

Anyways, I thought those were some good bonuses. Another bonus for me is that they are a smaller company than some of the larger truckload carriers out there. I was told by some family that the bigger they are, usually the worse they treat you. So anyhow, I'm scheduled to be at orientation Monday morning (it's Saturday now). I noticed that there aren't many recent threads on Super Service, so my goal is to provide everyone with accurate information regarding my experience with Super Service and let y'all know how everything goes. I'll be posting on here whenever I get a chance!

So far everything has gone smoothly with my recruiter, no major hiccups or anything, they seem to have themselves together pretty well. We'll see how the next few days go.

After the first day of orientation, I feel pretty good. The others had a lot of horror stories to report from other companies, and they were pleasantly surprised by how well we were treated. The trucks seem to be a little older than I had expected, but they're not horrible. Everybody is very friendly and considerate, and they answered all my questions patiently. I was also fed three very good meals. If the way I was treated today is any indication of how well I'll be treated come time for me to drive, I think I'll be very happy here.

 

Okay so I've been in training for almost two weeks now. I haven't had much time to get on here to do much, so I suppose an update is in order now that I finally have a minute. So far, I am extremely satisfied with how I've been treated here at Super Service. They've done EVERYTHING they said they would so far. The hotel room at orientation was clean and very roomy. We were made to feel very welcome on our first day. On the second day the CEO actually held video conference with us and the other terminals and welcomed us and told us a few things about the company. On my last day of orientation it was business as usual, finishing paperwork and such, and then off to our trainers or trucks, depending on the driver. I was supposed to go with a trainer. I had to wait for him since he had to come from where his last load was. Side note: They give you some preference on what kind of trainer you want. Smoking vs non smoking specifically, which is good. Another good thing I think is the trainers are paid a salary instead of theirs and your miles, so they're more motivated to train you instead of run you. Anyhow, I got my payroll sheet and they're starting me at 31 cpm, 32 after hazmat comes back. We have some slightly expensive benefits imo but from what I hear from family it's that way everywhere now with Obamacare and the economy.
Summary: I have no complains so far, We're being ran well, the trainer is very friendly and knows what he's doing, everybody in the company is friendly to one another and professional. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask em here. I'll answer them when I can get back to the thread.
