Dads Death

My heart goes out to your family, but Trucking companies hear #### like this all the time. For all they or we know you could be lying to save your own ###, after you realized that abandoning your truck (for what ever reason) was a DAP destroyer. This job has its ups and downs. Sure you get the freedom of being by yourself all the time, but that also can be a downside in situations like these because quite frankly nobody can validate your stories and nobody really cares anyway. Im far from a company flunkie but if you abandon their #### you deserve the mark on your dap, regardless of what the cirucumstance. Work hard and you'll make it. Work SMART and you'll make it FAR...

 

WRONG

When someone dies....there is an immediate record of it. Take one 2 minute phone call.

 

Boxxxtrucker paid spokesman for K.B. Transportation they are just bad company, left after Oreintation while there Terminal Manager some young guy came in with and Attidude and tried to start arugment with 3 drivers and the rest of Us were stunned. And they thought they assigned me a Driver Manager who only had 4 months, 4 months in the Trucking business and Breakdown he couldn't handle because he didn't understand it. If that wasn't enough he asked if I was married or single and said to me I will give you long runs if we COULD go out.. I said what the ###, was done with K.B. Transporation am going back home. So I can sympathize with Harleynite they are run by Ametuers and Family doesn't matter to them, I can see them doing that to a Driver when having a Death they don't CARE at all..

 

Death is final chapter in life and Trucking companies don't care about Drivers those Companies stay away from. And I was Devestated when my Mother died but I wasn't in the Trucking it has to be hard to be over the road and having someone die, I was with My Mother right to the end and I coudn't handle so we do take Death differently. But I know when I was with K.B. Transportation for ONLY those 3 days Family didn't matter and then to Have this Youngster of Driver Manager to propostion me with Long Runs is sickening, this Twickles down from Ownership from K.B...I'am 49 years old and professional Truck Driver never has haappened to me what that young punk tried to do with me..

 

K.B Transportation are the Worst 3 days of hell for me glad left after Oreintation.

 

I don't get it, when drivers have told me (or anyone I've worked with) about a death in the family the only priority is getting the driver home. #### the load, #### the truck, #### the expense (sure we'll work out a repayment plan so I guess let's not totally #### the expense). If your company questions you when you say there has been a death in the family, they are not a good company. They should approve a leave, however if you do like the OP did and just say your truck is at location X, and never offer to come back to work you should expect an Abandon on your DAC.

 

That is sad that companies treat people that way. When my dad died in 2000 I was in mississippi with HENDERSON TRUCKING. My dad was in MN I was supposed to p/u in TN and head to CA. They arranged it so I could bring that load to the yard in SALEM,IL with the time restraints I couldn't move everything out of my truck. Dispatch told me if they do use my truck they would have to go trough her. I was away for 17 days and my truck didn't move from where I parked it. Also got flowers from them...
