Hello to all. I asked about Kuhnle brothers around November of 2010. I started with them in late November of 2010. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Kim. I will tell you my story. I pulled a tanker for about 2years for superior carriers. I just could not make the money that I wanted and be home a reasonable amount of time do to we're I live. So I went to work as a welder out of the local union hall. Our plant shut down three years later. I looked for a job jammIng gears again. No one I mean no one would talk to me. I hade a clean record no points mvr or safe stat/CSa. They all said I have no experience. One day I called them they checked me out and called me back. I live 302.7 of a mile from the office. They hade a driver to stop and get me bring me up their. I stayed in a great hotel. They 2 other drivers started when I did. We each hade our own room. They gave me a company pick up truck to drive while I was in orientation. I road around for two days with a trainer great person. He has a old school w900. BTW loved the straight pipes. I did have to do the work of loading and unloading. How else would he know if I can perform the job duties. They gave me a older truck to drive. I drove it for a few months 5 I think. Then I came in the office and the owner told that the w900 he got in was mine. I made a great living last year. I have accomplished two things last year I made the most in one year that I have ever maid trucking. I made more on a single weeks checks then I have ever done at previous jobs. They know me as a person not a number. If I need to get home they get me there. They have never told me to pickup a load they always ask do I care too. I have read tankermans posts I am sorry they never worked out for you. I think it is a little childish to constantly bash a company or a person grow up. Sorry if I have misspelled words iPhones auto correct sucks

I have worked with numerous trucking companies as an owner/ operator and as A company driver. Steel coils, containers , tankers , doubles on the NY Throughway, pretty much everything except reefer and auto transport. Now with A local tanker company hauling cautic soda , magnesium hydroxide etc. After years of looking for that " perfect job " , in and outside the trucking arena , it is readily apparent that it doesn't exist. There are no " geographic " solutions to life's problems. We take " US " with us wherever we go. We are about has happy as we choose to be. I hear negative comments about my current employer , but they do not reflect my experience with them to date. As is to be expected , the safety department is mildly annoying , along with the log book nazis . My dispatcher is A good man; we work well together, help one another out when possible. One hand washes the other. You get back what you mete out. I can't say it doesn't happen , but it's pretty hard for someone to be abusive and deceitful with you when you treat them with dignity and respect. I always begin that way and see what happens. The trucking industry itself is A brutal arena fraught with so many variables that it has been structured to have the drivers eat em' to A certain extent. We deal with the unexpected , but so does the sales and dispatch staff. Mistakes abound on both sides. The benefit of the doubt is always best , unless experience has taught that it isn't deserved. I'm a huge fan of Kuhnle. They are professional and sharp. The drivers are the cream of the crop.

Tankerman1974 Sounds like you have a vandetta against that company. How many companies have you worked for? Do you "jump around"?
It sounds to me like you are never happy.
I don't think that is a Kuhnle problem it sounds like a tankerman problem.
What if I contacted Kuhnle's and asked them how many previous employment checks they have recieved since you worked there (for 4 months)?
That company has been around for over 40 years and takes care of it's trucks and employees.
You spend a lot of time bashing the companies you worked for. I bet they have interesting things to say about you.
What is the longest period of time you spent at any certain company? You need to take a long look at yourself. The problem is you, not the companies.
I'm sick of reading your negative crap on these threads. You are a hater and this will come back to bite you. I bet you have nice things to say about your wife too. Mom and Dad are proud huh? They raised a negative human that this world needs less of.
I am friends with someone that has worked there for over 30 years. They treat him with dignity and respect. Pay him extremely well, give him the best insurance available, and get him home when he needs to be. He has a beautiful truck that is well kept and repaired when needed.
Maybe if you put that much energy into doing a good job, you would be treated by an employer like my friend.
I hope you don't have any kids because the world has enough problems and we don't want to support your problems.

i am happy for you that you found a good match for yourself. As you stated you made a good living while there. thats all great for you and im happy that it worked out for you. not all companies are a good match. im not sure what you think is great money. but as long as your happy and you get home thats what matters most. you stated while at superior carriers you couldnt get the hometime you wanted or the pay. so you moved on instead.

No vendetta here against anyone. i am happy when treated right. i never said they didn't take care of there trucks. i said they were old and a lot of them not in the best of shape. At least the w900 i had anyways. the longest i was at a company was over 5 years. And with that company i made a ton of money. i averaged about $1788 a week gross. they treated me with respect and dignity and in return they got the same back from me. no issues. the problem is most of these trucking companies are only out for themselves and not the driver. i guess from your info you say your a trucker for 30 years, so i guess drivers pay has never been a issue in your 30 years of driving? and to say i treat my wife, mom and dad rudely just says your a dick. how does my relationship between an employer and self have anything to do with my personal life? well they dont. im not a negative person my any means. just negative against bad trucking companies.

Im glad you have a "friend" that works there. when you say paid extremely well whats does that mean? what is your version of being paid extremely? i have stated what i was paid at a company that i was at for over 5 years. now thats being paid extremely well. i have no clue to the insurance so i cant say anything about that. because i dont need the insurance from any trucking company, but generally speaking trucking comapanies health insurance is usually sky high for little cost, but as i said i dont know about kuhnle insurance. Also what do you consider to be a beautiful truck? the truck i was in was a piece of junk. beautiful i wouldnt use to describe it. i always put in and do a very good job, but there comes a time when its just not working between the patries and its time to go. and further more i have 2 step kids and 2 kids of my own. and trust me they dont ever need support from people like you. they were raised to work hard for themselves and not to need anything from anyone certainly not from anyone like YOU. a huge moron that dont have a clue as to what her is talking about. im not the only one on here that has said kuhnle bros is bad.

Go ahead and show your intelligence, your a moron. its a pic of a ice road trucker. but you know everything. Further more i will add in my 16 years of driving i have never wrecked a truck nor have had any kind of accidents. and from your prior post when i write something bad about a company it is because i went better for my family and i will not settle for meager pay from anyone, or any company. i have also worked for some good companies as well. the good companies dont need praise because people know who they are. just like prior i used to work for quality carriers for a owner operator. he was a great man to work for and quality carriers as a whole was good to work for. im not there any longer because he hauls doubles across the nys thruway and for whatever reason the nys thruway wouldnt give me the permit to do. so eventually i had to go but we parted way nicely. the point is here i dont constantly bash all companies. just the ones that arent worth anything.

Getting Started: You use to rarely see new drivers there but I hear their activitely hiring. You will be paid very little for your orientation. They will put you up in an nice room and a nice hotel in town. Convenient to everything. You however will be responsible for your food. They do not give you any money or provide you with any meals. They will also charge you for a new DOT physical that is mandatory even if yours is not expired. Your first truck will be whatever was left behind from the previous employee. But the drivers tend to get the equipment checked and maintained. So it may have some age on it but it will look sharp and will be decent as far as mechanics go.

Equipment: The company takes care of its equipment. They have mechanics at their terminal to maintain the trucks. Good Mechanics that know what their doing. If your on the road and need something fixed which is rarely you simply go to a service center, get it done, and they pay you. So the equipment looks good and is well maintained.

Pay: Your paid on percentage and they will tell you what the load pays if you ask but they do not willingly give up this information. Sometimes the loads pay crap for the work that goes into them. I have seen 100.00 Checks and I've seen 1800 checks. It varies and is never steady pay. They say they dont play favorites and they give the loads to first come first serve. I stopped believing this after talking to drivers that had been there 10+ years. Trust me their eating better than you. Things like that guy lives in his truck and that guy has a family of 8 to feed is not considered. The guy that lives in his truck and has been there 10+ year will eat steak while your family lives on soup. That guy is getting the better runs because he rejected all the crappy 100 buck loads which will then dwindle down to you.

Stick it Out or Leave: You can stick it out and hope to one day be the guy that only runs acid, de-icer, or water treatment. During that time you will be shuffling trailers around and taking #### loads. Cause well someone has to do them. And it would be ok if the guy that was eating high on the hog had to take one every once in a while. But he isn't going to so that leaves you to do. Things get better with time. Consider yourself a fresh bottle of wine when you start here. You need to age to get a better spot in the cellar. (many companies are like this)

Treatment: Their not going to hold your hand but they will treat you like a person. A person that works for them. Not their best friend. So do not expect to be treated like your part of the family or anything more than a truck driver that gets a paycheck from them. Their small but there is a reason their successful.

Final Thoughts: I left the company with no bitter feelings. What I am stating above is a mixture of my opinion and facts. You may feel differently. I enjoyed my time there. But I also enjoy eating more than 7 months out of the year. And I like to pay my bills. OK thats a lie I dont like to but I have to. This company doesnt do that. Many times I didnt break 40k at a tanker job. You can make much more money and see your family alot more doing something else. If your a single guy that wants to live in your truck then they will provide you with nice accomodations to do so. I wouldnt call this a family friendly trucking company.
