I'm actually Mr eLog....yeah, Mr Numbers is my boss. I'm transitioning into Mr Ops Manager, but right now I'm thinking about being Mr Where Is My Dinner, followed by Mr A Drink Sounds Really Nice Right Now.

This was posted on another thread, how ever I think it fits well here.
"At least in Holland and Germany (i think in all Europe by now) they are driving with black boxes in the trucks, meaning they register
everything you have done in the last seven days all the time, speed you drive , engine rpm, driving time, rest time, etc, if for example you drove 15 minutes too long (looking for a parking place) on Monday in
Germany and you get stop by police on Friday on Portugal, you still can get a ticket for that, other than that, every truck is governed at
80 kmh (50 mph), meaning that everyone is driving at the same speed
and on main routes like crossing Germany, Belgium or France, you
can see three miles long convoys of trucks driving at 80 kmh because
with one or two kmh`s difference in speed in the trucks, you can`t get ahead of anyone (not w/o being 20 minutes in the maneuver
occupying the left lane) and sometimes you get a prohibition of trucks
driving on the two left lanes and you have to drive 30 miles behind an idiot with a flat at 30-35 mph, tha`s what you got nowadays in Europe."

So far while using E-logs, I am making more money and my stress level has decreased quite a bit. I am no longer being pushed around by a dispatcher to run illegal. With E-logs they can't force you. It is quite empowering.
No more of these crazy runs we used to be forced into. With E-logs, if the run can't be done legally, well it simply can't be done. You can talk with the person in your company who is in charge of logs and try to come up with a game plan to get the load delivered at the time the receiver wants it and if you can't get it there legal, well the receiver is going to have reschedule, period.
So far with E-logs I have become more productive and I am making more money. I am no longer doing runs where I have to try to do 5+ drops in two days, because with E-logs it just isn't possible. With E-logs many runs have become one pick and one drop with good miles. I am spending much less time in a dock and more time driving, thus making more money. My life has become much less stressful as a driver, that is for sure.
It's very nice that when you are running E-logs that you hardly get messed with at a scale, unless the company you work for really sucks and does not maintain their equipment well.
No more worrying about crossing a scale when you are out of hours, that does not happen with E-logs, unless you fall into your old ways and run illegal because you wanted to make the impossible happen and impress dispatch. Either the run can be done legal or it can't.
This year running with E-logs will be my best money year. I have run a ton of miles, with a lot less stress.Dinomite Thanks this. -
