Used flats, step and rgn's are in high demand right now because every tom, dick and harry is buying them. My local dealer who i deal with said they can not keep an open deck trail on the lot. I bought my 2000 Ravens for $16k 6 years ago and have bin overed close to that recently and its a 48x96.

    SHC Thanks this.

Not at all, was just trying to decide what the heck i want to do. I didn't mind flatbed work, and they are cheaper than SD's and the freight seems more abundant and rates are about the same.

In my humble opinion, all open deck equipment is overpriced right now. There isn't much point in buying used for new price. Either stick with the LS trailer and pay rent or buy new.

I've noticed the same thing SHC, been looking at drop decks and the used ones are practically the same price as new. Don't know why anyone would want to buy a used trailer when for a couple thousand more they can have new.

A o/o with my co has a 98' utility trailer all beefeed up from factory for $8,000. I am told by trailer co's that it is worth $10,000. I am thinking about buying it, but maybe not. have not gone to look at it yet.flat trailer prices are high right now for sure. mine is a 94' transcract. going to a 98' is not much of an upgrade. thinking about going to reitinour in the spring. I usually take several months looking researching & thinking before I buy.

To eliminate lead time I think. Sometimes a contract comes up and you need a trailer right away and cant afford to wait the 6-12 weeks for them to build a new one. So in that sense used trailers have value. Not for me though. I looked for 2 years for a used deal and finally gace up and boight another new 53 combo step in mid '11.
