here new trucks have mostly 80N force required for clutch so this is 18lbs

i dont like too soft clutch , softest i have ever seen was on our ex. mb sk, you could press it with 2fingers of hand

not just that but you have feeling that clutch collapsed ( like it is cylinder failure dont know how to explain this in english , but here when you say clutch collapsed everybody know what you mean)

personally i think man f2000 have best clutch i ever try , short stroke i dont like when you have to lift leg 20cm , nice hardness and accurate

especially since this is pretty old truck model

Float gears.....only use clutch when starting out and stopping.
It also totally extends the life of the clutch.

    :biggrin_25525:

I drove a buddy's W900 and I swear the clutch almost required 2 feet to press.
There isn't anything special about my clutch but I was sure glad to be back in my own rig...

imagine timing the lights. and crawling your way so you don't have to stop.

i pulled a 80,000 load 1000 miles through a few towns and denver rush hour traffic. with no clutch pedal. also pulled a loaded tanker through cali traffic going to vegas. when i needed a nap. i made sure to park downhill. so i could crank the motor over to get her running again.

yes, the clutch went out once and was repaird. went out again 6 weeks later and got warranteed becuase the shop installed the wrong disc. so i was told.

I have a friend with an amputated left leg with an old E-Series Oshkosh. He fitted an air booster from a trailer to his clutch, with an air switch on his dash. After take off he just floated the gears.

when I drive EU cabover with air clutch servo I use it to start only. It is a good habit to float gears.
