Hi i am a new student driver. I got hired with central refrigerated. I begin on January. I have things I have to do in December. But anyways after all these companies I applied for I feel kind of depressed. Like Swift CR england, central refigerated us express. Do they all pay the same when you first start off new? I plan to work a bit then buy a truck. But it seems like my weekly pay will be 500$ or so? I wanted at least 1000$ as a driver. Is it just this company?

Congrats! Cemtral is a very good company to drive for! I would say pretty much that they all pay the same. It really boils down to your performance and who your dispatcher is.
My wife and I drove for Central and did very well there.
Keep the leasing thing on the back burner. Give yourself a good year or two before considering it. During that time as a company driver keep track of everything you do as if you owned the truck and see how you do. I think you may find that you will make more $$$ as a company driver and it will be a lot less of a headache.
Good luck man...Marky84 Thanks this. -
if you are talking 1,000 gross you should be able to do that after you get some experiance and learn the company, if you were looking to take home a 1,000 a week coming out of school I dont know who was feeding you a line but the gave you a good one.

i've been driving 13 years. only had one year i actually made over 500 a week.

You are going to be lucky to make the 3 or 400 gross while you in training. These are some direct deposits going into my account. I had child support coming out but I don't even make 1000 take home. I make 40cpm also with 14 years experience. The 1,000 that you see was wrong they forgot to take out the comdata View attachment 39427

I have less than one year experience and make around $500 a week running local @ 40hrs a week. I am leaving that job for double the money.
If you have 13yrs experience and are only making $500 a week, you are doing something very wrong.

absolutely doing something wrong ! I can make 500 a week now, mind you I'm no first year rookie. you should expect about 300 or so with a trainer and then you will get your own truck assignment and it should get better, but that depends on you. you will have to be disciplined and watch your time! most people I see who fail are the ones that try to drive 5 or 6 hours a day and then watch tv or play video games for hours. My first trainer said it best. if the left door is open you ain't makin money ! do your homework and pay attention and you will be fine its just gonna take a bit of time.

He's in it for the money. He probably won't make it 3 months.

Of course I'm in it for the money, aren't you? I also happen to love driving, but I ain't doin it for peanuts.

I am in it for the money but it doesn't mean I wont make it. My dad and every one of my uncles who drive a truck 6+ are owner operators and they make big $$. i plan to be a O/o as well but I need experience. I also got a job from Maverick who do you think is better and you can make 1,000$ a week. I know my dad friend he pays 42 cents a mile from the start. But I want a big name company.
