Yea, they try that crap, but I don't argue. I just quote the regs to them and if that don't do it, I call the haz dept and hand them the phone. When the try that "the others do it", I tell them they shouldn't be dealing with criminals, they can get into serious trouble, doing that.

It didnt even have warning labels on it. It was a battery that came from overseas in a container. They have several sitting on the dock. The only way i noticed was one of the plastic covers had a single placard on it that was half missing. I reviewed the bills and they even said it was a hazardous load. Could you imagine if one of the regulators or an inspector was to come into their warehouse and find those there!!!

The load was booked to pick-up tomorrow, but I called and they told me to come on in and get it. Once i pointed out the placard issue, they told me the boss was up in Columbus and would not be in till 9am tomorrow and he would get me what i needed to go.... i didn't feel like waiting all night, plus since my tarp came about 6" too short on each side (yes I test-fit it) I didn't feel too hot about hauling it across country since it was flamable when wet.

Look at the bright side you got to stretch your tarp out and get some practice rolling it up.

They did you a real favor.
