OMG, I am so sorry to hear about that experience. I met the other day a guy who because of having so many breakdowns with his LP truck, that Swift swapped him out into a different trk. I wonder who's bright idea it was to change out the comps? I had once a Prostar and it was a piece of junk, always having problems, etc. It was the first time ever I had a lemon / junk truck with Swift.

oh well, maybe now becuz I got one and never really paid much attention before. but I am starting to see a lot of these blue columbia's in the different terms I stop at. their nice, I won't complain about mine. Its more roomier than the prostar and of course a volvo.

yes your story reminds me of one LP guy I met at a walmart dc, he tried primes deal, taking up the remaining lease pymts on a trk, he had a real bad experience also.

well gotta go, thank god for walmarts in colby, ks, I added a few hundred more lbs of needed freight to the inside of my truck last night. good eatin for a couple of days anyway.

p.s. I forgot to mention, if you ever see a fat old white guy walking a black cat on a leash at any term or trkstop sometimes, that will be me.

I spoke with an O/O driving for Swift who had a german shepard. He said company drivers are not allowed to have pets but they sneak the pets.Just don't get caught, that could result in termination.

What terminal are you out of? If you want to say

Don't know if it's worth the risk of sneeking a pet on board, i have a small chihuahua, but that's still a lot of risk
The last company i worked for was huge like swift, but they liked to recycle the former l/o trucks back in to
Company trucks for some reason, so for the most part you had a perty good chance of passing your truck
as a l/o and no one would be to the wiser as long as you didn't say any thing.
I don't see swift recycling their former l/o trucks, but i have been down to the Denver terminal tons of times
And was at the Phoenix home terminal from 3 weeks, and the thing that i noticed was that i didn't see and DMs or mechanics, or safety personal walking around the yard and the security guards seemed more interested in other things than drivers with pets, seemed to me once you get past the fuel / safety island you were home free unless
You had to go to the shop

No you wouldn't have to change terms, not really, unless you had a reason to change terminals. There would be no reason to change from Denver to SLC. There are people from all over, belonging to terms all over, if that makes anykind of sense. Once I met one guy who lives in TX but his term is Lewiston, ID, he started there, but moved, but kept his same DM, etc.

The only thing really a term is , is your home base of operations, meaning your DM and other support staff are there to help and assist you. As far as Services and maintainence for your truck is concerned, you can get that done most anywhere you like when the need arises.

And as far as if the need arises to change or swap out trks, that can be done any where there is one waiting/sitting. Any kind of training can be done at any term.

Actually its funny, but if I were to change terms, it would be to Denver. I think the people there are really great and do seem to care.
