Lb thank you for posting that link. Good info there. I know I'm going to have to make this decision eventually and want all my ducks in a row when it comes time. I have already decided to not take the insurance because my wife works for the state of Illinois and has me covered on her insurance. I will although invest in the 401k as that's a must.

This is going to be a lenghty post. I apologize for not being in para graphs as I'm on my phone. To start I'm in Monteagle Tennessee for the night at a Wilco Truck stop 32 miles from my destination in Stevenson Alabama. I've reached 1 month on the road by myself. I thought I would share my thoughts here for those who are new and the experienced drivers who want something to read haha. I love it out here, no other way to put it. My experience has been great. I had an awesome trainer who got me ready for the road. I was extremely nervous to start and still am a bit but things are a lot better. I am choosing to stay out 1 month and go home 4.5 days. I am averaging $500 a week bring home with a $700 week in there. I've learned that backing does get easier, but for those of you who are students here's my advice. Need help? Ask. Can't see the trailer your 45 degree backing beside? Get out and look. Again and again. I've spent two times over an hour trying to get in a spot at one of our drop locations (cherokee alabama, eden north carona brewery.) Both times I asked drivers from other companies for a minute of their time politely and they helped me. Trip planning is becoming easier as well and the biggest part of this experience it makes or breaks me. Things I don't like? Doing 55 through a construction zone only to get my doors blown off because some idiot who's going to kill someone can't read or doesn't care. I've been passed in a construction zone while doing the speed limit by a Millis Driver as well. And I just shook my head picturing them in a orange jumpsuit pulling ten years eatting soup and bread for dinner lunch and breakfast. Other than having to much time on almost all my loads for example three days to run 788 miles sucks and it keeps happening almost every load and costing me money inevitably I'm content with learning this year and enjoying myself. I've lost 16 pounds so far while being on the road. #Truckin

The BBQ place next door to that Wilco is #### good!

watch yourself playa. most construction zones are 45mph now. and most have a lane restriction for big trucks. and let me tell you that if those trucks pass you in a zone like that they may as well go to jail because the fines are astronomical. just ask my wife she is a state trooper.
