I would look at using a small hoist to load the bike. A auto crane econo ton only weighs about 250 lbs if I remember correctly. I was going to use one to load quads on the RV

You need about 50 inches of swing room, from the center point of the 5th wheel, to clear anything behind the sleeper.

If youre want something that saves gas, money but not time, Buy a Yamaha Razz. Its a 50cc. They weigh like 115 pounds and go like 32. You could get them for really cheap. I got mine for 180!
MJ1657 Thanks this. -
Perfect. I can carry that in my backpack.cetanediesel and 281ric Thank this.

Lol, i wish i could but its not that small

just buy a step deck trl and keep them on the top deck. you may loose a few loads but in reality i have only had one load in two months that had anything on the top deck and it could have been loaded on the bottom if need be.
you could build a front wheel block that slips into a stake pocket. if you had a load that needed to be up to to ballence weight which really should only happen in ca, you could move it to the rear of the trl.
i like the enduro idea. lots of great offrpad riding out west -
Yeah it looks cool but imagine the road grime on your Harley.

Yeh, I looked at a few different scooter options, but im weighing in at 340, which would probably destroy that razz. I spoke with my local ktm rep and found out that their driver takes his bike on the road and said that he rides a 350 EXC (which is their road legal model) it weighs in at 232 lbs with a full tank and the widest thing on it is the handle bars. Oh, and its a 6 speed with close to 50 hp. Im pretty sure thats going to be the winner. Also, im thinking bc of how its built, i may be able to strap it to the wall of the trailer.

How expensive is it to modify a trucks wheel base(lengthen the frame)?
-
couple grand.it depends really as there is a few different ways to do it.
i like to get a cutoff frame from another truck then cut the frame where it needs to be. match the cut on the new rails, put them together, weld, then use the cut off portion of the rail to go inside the cut and span a few feet either side and bolt it. that way you only have one cut. if you cut the frame, spread it apart and put a new piece in between then you have two cuts.
there is a xompany that i csnt remember the name of. if you google step deck ramps it will come up. they also make platform that bolt to the frame for hauling bikes and cars. yes they make.one to haul a smart car sideways behind the bunkjrboyce83 Thanks this.
