Mcelroy and TMC age requirements.

I agree with CPAPE. Many companies wont frown on the lack of experience with a manual transmission. I know someone who drove auto's for 2+yrs then went to another company with manuals and had no problem getting accepted. It is up too you but Maverick is a better company than Roehl in my opinion.

Edit: I state better because I think Maverick has a better training program and more options to advance. With Maverick you can go into o/d or the glass division. If you do decide to go with Maverick, go with a open mind and eagerness to learn.

And the age requirement has to do with their insurance. They can't take on a guy their ins company refuses to cover. That's all it is.

 

With what Maverick pays new guys and the hometime they offer I don't think you would want to go elsewhere for a while. They pay way better than any of these mega carriers do (in any of their divisions). At 6 months you get 41c a mile for TCD and at one yr you are at 42c/mi. Some outfits don't pay that until you got 4 or more yrs exp

Talkin with their drivers, reading up on them, and talking to the company they won me over big time. I was considering going back to my old company to start back up again. Not now. got my paperwork in waiting on finalization. If they will take me should be heading that way Jan 6th I hope.

The biggest thing that won me over was the way the drivers talked about the company. Most had very little negative to say. When I called in I expected the per mile rates to be some inflated number that included fuel and on time bonuses. The recruiter assured me that the advertised rate was the true one and that any bonuses would just add to it (never take away). Sounds like a good place to be and nothing speaks the truth better than the employees themselves (no offense to the recruiters or the company but let's be honest)
