Ok i've been around manual tarnsmissions my entire career as a driver. (10sp & 13sp) I like the ease of a 13sp. would not buy a 10 sp, just my prefference. The 13's an auto with a clutch, but what i'm after dosen't require your left foot to stop n go or right hand to manipulate the transmission.

I'm wanting to buy an ultrashift automated automatic transmission but not sure of the durability and reliability of one. Is there anyone with experience out there that can help me make a good business decission? Thanks for the input.

the Mack M-drive is the same, very reliable, the one I test drove a year ago is now owned by an O/O, has over 110K on it without issue, this is a two peddle setup with a pushbutton on the dash

M-drive is Volvo I-shift transmission. shares all parts and software. Can be used with Volvo Engines (IMO it is marketing issue).

It is a story like all MP engines are D11/D13/D16 engines by Volvo

Where I work we have kenworth and sterling autos. Some are fully auto while others have the clutch. I don't like the starlings and plus they break down a lot. The kenworth autos are better but still not reliable. Sometimes (both trucks) they get stuck in gear and won't come out and you have to sit there for ten minutes for it to reset which sucks if your in traffic cuz now you made it worse. Or sometimes they won't go in gear. But these trucks are older around early 2000's with 600k-1.3million miles on them. Personally I'd stick with the standards. In the end they are more reliable.

I have not had any issues with mine, but mine is an 18 with a clutch pedal. Whatever you do hide this tread before my husband sees it. He hates the auto shifts with a passion. Basically it is the shift package the transmission itself is the same as any stick 13 or 18 speed.
