Oh and I strongly prefer te clutch less autos gifts, but since you asked the button that shows the brake pedal is pressed broke and wouldn't show that the brake was depressed so the transmission wouldn't shift into gear and I got stranded and towed from shipper.

the only difference between a 10sp stick and a 10 autoshift is a computer and a XY shifter....

the only break down we have had with a autoshift was the high.low range went out on one (the same high/low range that a stander 10sp has) we have 740k on this one and just had to have the clutch replaced

I saw a demo where the auto got better mileage. The auto did everything the manual did but more. It was smoother and easier to drive. I am sure in traffic the auto is a dream.

They are not "automatic" transmissions like you are used to. They are same say Eaton 10spd being controlled by computer. Not fluid drive like your car or pickup. They do break just as standard ones do. They have their weak and strong points.

They are OK most of the time. In hills the 10spds suck. At least the one I drove did. Waited way to long to downshift. And you have to make sure on down grades that you are in manual mode before you get over speed and wind up at the bottom of some canyon. For regular freight and company drivers they are fine. Sure they save lot of clutch money with them. 13 spd was my favorite until I got the 18 I have now. Will be hard to ever go to anything else. Never anyplace you can't find the correct gear. But if money was right I would jump back in autoshift or ultrashift. Stupid and proud idiots go broke.

I honestly think I'd do better shifting mileage wise and most manufaturers will admit that an experienced driver can do better than the autos but the Autos are consistent.

In traffic the auto shift is a dream. My knee is not in great shape and not having to push in that clutch all morning today in Houston traffic was a reminder why I bought that Volvo with the I shift!
