Braceface I hope you enjoy your new job. I interviewed at a location 200 miles from home and did the pre-trip and road test which went very well. When I got home that night I was notified via Email of an opening 55 miles from the house. I asked the driver recruiter in Arkansas what she thought. She informed me that it would not be viewed negatively, but I would have to withdraw from the first location to apply for the second location. She also informed me that I would not be guaranteed an interview at the second location. I decided to take a chance on the DC that is closer to home and now I am waiting for that location to end the application process. I am confident that I will receive a call eventually. One thing that really impressed me was how friendly everyone was. From all the people in the office, the folks conducting the interview, the HR manager and the drivers I met while there. I got a very good impression of how good I would be treated driving for walmart. Thanks for your info and I hope you have a safe and prosperous career as a Walmart driver.

Banker, Thanks for the nice words, and the very best of luck to you!!! Let us all know if and when you the call from the DC closer to your home...

FYI, it is a great place to work, everyone is friendly, and happy to be working here...Not just the drivers, but the people in the office who support you, and everyone working in the shop, who keep the equipment maintained...

I think its the best place to work, if you are going to drive a truck for a living..

Brace Face I got called Christmas Eve for an interview at the DC closer to home on January 3rd. The interview, pre-trip and road test went well and I am now waiting for the former employer's to return the background requests. I feel good about the experience and everyone at this DC was very friendly as well! I hope to hear something any day.
