man they promised me the moon. I could not get over 1800 miles a week. I sat for more than i drove but one thing they did was get me home. but home dont pay bills... I only lasted A month and i told them 3 times i need more miles or i gotta quit...When i told them i quit they said sorry we couldnt get you more miles...New trucks are ok though
-
They are in the process of updating the entire fleet. Last I heard we were getting 5 to 6 new
Trucks per month. But then again they recentlyhad to rent quite a few new trucks to put drivers
in. So at worst case, if you come on, it wouldnt be long before you got one. -
Sorry to hear that, whos board were you on? I've run local out of the S.C. terminal and gotten more than 1800 per week.
-
E-logs for about a month now.
All new trucks are set at 62. Some of the older trucks are or can be set at 65 but with a 65 mph truck your gonna make .02 cents less per mile. Not sure about Edison terminal. Only place I've been to in Jersey is a drop yard.
Venture Logistics or Venture Express. I'm not aware of any terminal in AL.
Congrats. I got mine back in June.
I'm not a fan of the recruiter you talked with because of what he tells people. I truly do think this is a great company or I'd have left a while ago. It makes it hard for people to get a honest start when your told one thing then find out another. Then when you start asking questions you get treated like a whiner for asking about things you were promised.
If anyone wants to get info then just ask and if myself or someone else can't answer I can put you in contact with a good person.
I set this thread to alert me when posts were made but it did not. I will keep a better eye on it in the future to try and answer questions.

i cant believe all the crap people aare posting on here about venture being a good company.. overall they suck. I have been with them almost a year and am leaving very soon. The dispatch doesnt hve a clue what they r doing most of the time. Loads are constantly late because u dont get dispatched in enough time. T he pay is horrible and they pay short miles and the repair shop is for mechanics fired by swift..( ok maybe a little exaduration there because I dont think swift would hire em.) 125% driver turn over anually..I will say it again 125% driver turn over anually.. NEED I SAY MORE........STAY AWAY

Running the boards I assume? I always recommend to people that if you want to make money here get on something dedicated ASAP. Venture from my point of view has most of the runs set up and if your running the boards or even regional you could spend a lot of time waiting.
I'm defiantly not gonna argue about maintenance at least first shift maintenance. I do not have my truck serviced at the terminal anymore due to time restraints. I have tho heard stories of drivers having issues but like I said it only been on first shift. I do know they just hired a new shop manager so maybe that will turn around.
125% turn over is news to me but maybe its a good thing in one aspect because our CSA has dropped dramatically over the past few months.
I never and I seriously mean never go to Indy or even my assigned terminal. So all the good/bad I post on here is just from my personal experience.ATX Thanks this. -
So, Colorado, I live in Austin only 10 miles West of I-35 and am wondering if the Laredo Terminal has dedicated routes, or is all its freight OTR? Thanks!
-
Everyone I know that goes to Laredo runs dedicated. I'm sure there like every other terminal and have regional, local, and OTR as well.
