I spent the night at the Pilot on 78/Shelby drive in Memphis TN. I have stayed there quite often without any problems. I park in the far back away from everyone to cut down on the noise and getting my front end clipped.

About 9pm a truck parks next to me with a big cat motor. That driver ran his truck all night. I guessing he must be a company driver as it was 50 degress last night. i am not sure why he was idling. Anyway thanks to him I had to put my volume on my tv to 60 to try and drown out his engine noise (by the way I never heard the fan cycle so i dont think he was running the ac or the heat).

Point being when I got up this morning and was doing my workout I noticed a tire by the rear of my trailer. I looked under my trailer and noticed that one of my spare times was missing...... a light went off and I realized that it was my tire. I laughed to my self because about a month ago I put some manual slacks on my trailer. Well right after that the brakes stuck and I dragged the rear tandems on the passenger side messing up the two tires.

Well I keep my spares mounted on the rims so i just swap them out. Well turns out that the tire they tried to steal was a bad tire so they left it. I know someone will ask why dont I lock the tires? Good question and here is my answer I dont lock them because I write the word junk or bad tire on the good ones because every lock I put on I have to cut off by the time I need the spare.

Now to the part that tickled me this morning is I had two spare tires under my trailer they didnt bother to touch the one that said junk and that was the good one. O well I just walked to the back of the trailer and flipped the tire like 15 times to end my work out and stuck it back under the trailer. I guess thieves do take the time to read! Thanks for letting me share my litttle story with rates in the dump I needed a good laugh and got one this morning!

Haha! Had my wallet broken in to there; 2 credit cards and debit card gone, and about $180 in cash. Still don't know how they got in to it....

I padlock mine but I get up.on the catwalk and unlock it once in a while, keeps the lock working. Doesn't hurt to.give it.a shot.of we40 to keep the innards from sticking.

WD 40 is not good for locks, get some graphite powedered lube instead. The WD40 may help when its sticky, but once you start driving dust and dirt will get stuck INSIDE and you will have a use less lock. DO NOT use WD-40 in locks.

Master Lock professional series padlocks are the only ones I have used that can last thru multiple winters of grit and crud under a trailer.
