Applied with Millis about 2 weeks ago. Called yesterday morning to inquire on my app, was told everything came back, and everything would be turned into the director of recruiting for further consideration. Within approx 1 hour got a call from Alice informing me my app was approved and would like to schedule me for schooling. Jan 14th is my proposed class start in Richland Wisconsin. Really stoked, need to schedule dot physical, pay my 100 bucks to reserve my seat in class then come up with the other 400. Big step nervous as hell. Anyone have anything to say or recommend for a new recruit. Everything I've heard or read so far about Millis has been positive.

Millis is truly a great company. I went to their school in Trenton, OH, while I was there I talked to a lot of other drivers. I heard from so many happy drivers I was starting to think they were being paid to say good things lol (I assure you they aren't). Equipment is top notch. Just listen, and have fun.

Was hoping you could answer a question about training for me. What happens if I were to go through Millis school for 3 weeks, then 3 day orientation, and then out on road with trainer but then fail my cdl road test? If this were to happen , will they work with you and get you a second chance at passing or will you basically be up the creek without a paddle owing them $5000 but no cdl? I hope this wouldn't happen to me, but I just want to be as prepared and informed as possible lol...thanks!

I used to work for Millis years ago and when i went to get my cdl for the first time i failed it. Got back in the truck with my trainer and a week later took it again and passed. So dont worry about failing and getting kicked out they will work with you. Just listen to what they say and you will be fine. -
That's good to hear Millis will work with a driver needing extra time in the truck. I'm still weighing the pros/cons of company training versus trucking school but am leaning heavily towards Millis Training Institute. The main reason is because the more I research this, it seems a student driver would be trained better and given more time behind the wheel with company training as opposed to a cdl mill! Also, everything I have read and heard about Millis has been positive...seems as though they genuinely want you to succeed because they kind of have a vested interest in you. I haven't talked with a recruiter yet because I am not planning on a career change until winter/spring 2014. I am, though, planning on a trip to Trenton in a few weeks to check thngs out and hopefully talk with some current drivers/students if that is possible,
