Just had a driver going under Interstate 25 on State Road 66 near Longmont, CO. Bridge is 12'10", trailer is 13'6". He's still wedged under as I type. DOT said he cannot drive the trailer once he's freed. 16,000 lb load delivers 16.4 miles north of him to WalMart DC. Anybody in the area able to help? Driver can lump the load to your trailer.
Anybody have any suggestions that could help? Please don't bash me on this one today. I'm not in the best mood. Tomorrow though I'll take the haircut jokes.
ACK! Bridge strike in Denver! Anybody close enough to help?!?!

The local wrecker who is going to move the trailer for you probably has another tractor and trailer to offload the damaged trailer freight onto his. If he doesn't have one, he knows someone who does. Very common problem with truck wrecks.
str8rida and silenteagle Thank this. -
Thanks. Any ideas are appreciated.

sounds like a fun night

Daylight conditions, clear weather. Wouldn't you slow down before going under this one with a 13'6" trailer?
BigBadBill Thanks this. -
Slow down? STOP more like it.
Clearly posted, and it looked like a lower speed limit road to boot.
Hate to be in your shoes right now bud, sorry to hear it happened to you. The driver on the other hand needs some of your previous career's "special" attention IMHO.

That's a shame. We are all just a phone call away from disaster. Every time it rings I wonder what it's about. Just another reminder that I need to be well compensated for doing this. Good luck to you.

Well it was clearly marked...
Hope things work out the best for you.
Bridge hits suck. I know first hand.
Different deal, but still a bridge hit... -
It must be bad karma or ironic back luck. I was just looking at the payment book for that trailer yesterday morning and was jazzed that I only have one payment to go and it'll be paid off. I was actually thinking of getting home last night and just mailing in the payment early. If anyone can learn anything from this, my best advice would be to spend the extra money on collision and comprehensive insurance. I didn't and now I have 10,000 lbs of scrap metal and wood with 9 nearly new tires on aluminum wheels, new shocks, bushings, brakes, etc. in a wrecking yard 1,100 miles from home.

probably going to be hit with inspection and repair bill for the bridge too. its a bad deal all way around
