I fully agree with this. We've use both dealers and independents. We got really crappy service from the dealership, but the truck was in and out. We got great quality from an independent, but it was a slow process. Now here's the thing. We have to "look" at the mistakes of the dealership every time we look at the truck. So I would take the slower independent any time, because when they got finished with the truck, the whole job was right. There wasn't anything we could complain about. :biggrin_255: Most O/O's will prefer perfection over speed. Now from a company perspective you might get the opposite.

Central IL Trucks' body shop in Normal does excellent work. But they're also very expensive in my opinion.

Although I've never needed body work done on a truck I've driven (knock on wood) I have repaired a few myself, usually by buying salvage or new parts. I've also done small fiberglass repairs. It's really not that hard, and you sure can save a lot of money.

I guess my next paint project is going to be blasting and painting my stepdeck, since I'm replacing the floor. I figure I might as well do my truck frame from the cab back while I have the blaster and sprayer rented as well. I might have to wait til spring though, don't have a heated shop big enough.

Cost and time and good quality work for a reasonable price. We are looking into having out truck repainted, but haven't really started the shopping process. might be late next year.
