They better start building their hyper transport system now. Because pretty soon no one is going to want to deliver to them. :biggrin_2555:

Maybe they will change their mind when someone dies from heat exhaustion in the middle of the summer.

That was a quote from the movie The Elephant Man but it will soon apply to the truckers of America. There are ways to get by with this but only at the cost of an arm and a leg at the expence of companies and owner operators.
I would like to get one of these enviorment fools and put them in a sleeper in 90 degree temputures and tell them," don't let the bed bus bite, good night.
Then they will find out how it feels to sleep in a oven.
We all are the most important link in the transporting of everthing thats substanes the needs of every American but that's always overlook. And what about traines wich burn a high sulphur desiel? Going to tell them that they can not idel there traines?:biggrin_2556:

Sadly this might not even be enough. And what about the guy that doesn't get quality rest on his 10 for a few days in a row then goes out and runs over someone.

unfortunately this is all a scam to get us to buy or lease APU's. modern ECU emission controlled trucks burn relatively clean, probably cleaner than the APU that i'm gonna have to buy!!!

Yea, that's going to be everyone's plan if they get into an accident after sleeping in California. What I would do is sleep out and then go to the hospital with heat exhaustion and file a workman's comp then sue.

If they don't want us to idle they need to provide us sleeping facilities at truck stops. If you can't idle for the purpose of temperature control during time off duty than why allow anyone to temperature control their home? Why allow any vehicle with emissions on the road?

I drive CA alot; and, I have no problem boycotting CA if this is going to be enforced! Custs must then provide trucker lounges with cots and food for us to service there or No sleeper time--no products!!:biggrin_25513:

I have checked on Google several times, there may be engine driven APUs being developed that meet CARB emission standards, but I haven't found one that exists now.

Some people at CARB don't care, they want non engine driven means of heating and cooling, even the Webasto heater is being threatened by some of them.

I don't go there now, that's too far to haul live turkeys and the west coast refrigerated stuff gets covered mostly by outside carriers.

    scottied67 Thanks this.
