My co. has those heaters (catalytic running off of diesel from drvr side tank) and they do work really good---can burn you out of your bunk if set too high!

But, Coachella truck stops in summer---116 degress---you wont catch me sleeping there!!:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25521:

I just don't understand what you guys are supossed to do? You can't idle, and the APU's don't even meet CA standards so you can't use them. There aren't enough truck stops in CA to require that everyone use Idle Air instead. This makes as much sense as No Child Left Behind.

    Futue of OTR Trucking?

Well, my sleeper truck w/Cummings Idles at 0.5 g/hr....APU's arent one heck of a lot better (not like nite & day). Guess the advantage of sleeper trucks over the old day cabs of yesteryear may go away...i.e. No more sleepers, but day cabs like the LTL's; also means 'Truck Plazas' will be Motels with truck parking, ALL freight will go up in price, and ALL things will cost 50% (?) more to the U.S. consumer!! And, oh yes, ALL shippers/receivers must have adequate facilities for all the drivers while there--cots for 10 hr brk (or complimentary Idleaire type facilities w/parking if drivers must stay in their trucks...total idiocy!! :biggrin_25513::biggrin_2551:

Just think what the truck stop will charge for the motel rooms they provide when you cannot idle the truck.....

The night before last it was 36 degrees in Fresno at 1AM.
If this law is enforced, I may be done with this as my main account is a once a week deal into the San Joaquin Valley and I know that I ###### sure can't afford 6-8 grand for an apu on a truck with a little over a half million miles on her. This law is madness...
Incidentally yesterday's high temp in the desert was a blistering 51 degrees.

Years ago, people used to joke about California falling into the ocean. Well, maybe it's time. :biggrin_25523:

This is really beyond reasonable! I can't imagine being there in the summer without A/C at night.

This is half of the reason for the big meeting in Porterville on Sat!

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is going to turn into a HUGE fight, and I will be somewhere in the middle of it all! By the time I am done, by the time Ron Faulkner is done, we with both fall into the category of persona non grata with the powers that be in this state! I can only hope we either WIN or have some place to hide!

I'm not normally a trouble maker, but it is time someone made all the BS SToP and it might as well be me!

I can honestly say I do not miss running to Kalifornia.

Kalfornia is so far out into left field it is beyond belief.

Why the Mesicans flock to there is also beyond me. Personaly I'd MUCH rather live in Tijuana than in Kalifornistan. Not even a question.

Running New York City is a dream compared to running (operating in) Komifornia. Yes, you read that right. Again, not even a question.
