Personal Days and Sick Days

Unless you work for a union outfit with bennies, there ain't no "sick days" in trucking.

You don't show up, you don't get paid.

 

Or " I can't use anybody on light duty" is another favorite.

All BS aside though some employees get a couple of sick days a year as a benny. Some get a few, some get more. Means you can stay home and still draw 8 hrs. Ask HR. Personal days same thing.......

If you get these in trucking then I suggest you cherish them because they are rare.

 

Since it is in Walmart thread, maybe they get such benefits.

 

It builds weekly by hours (ex. 1.23 hrs accrued per week) for sick days. I keep track online at exponet.com for sick and vacation days building. Ive accrude over 100 hours unused and it carries over same as vacation hours. But, only 40 hours of vacation time can transfer over to new year. Thats just how it works for us. Be safe out there drivers.

 

You get them every year on your hire date your coordinator can print out how many days off you got coming vac, safe, pers, sick, etc.
