I'd like to get my hands on that for our BCO's... too bad I'm working at the firehouse tomorrow.

It's probably still posted because the broker doesn't work weekends and goes and spends all their money they made enjoying life, while other drivers sit out there and search for loads on a Sunday LOL.... I'm guilty of the second as well. Haha
HDFatboy Thanks this. -
It's almost midnight and I'm still booking loads. And have driver staying at my place so have to be up at 5 to get him to his truck. Something is wrong with this picture.
truckfam, LSAgentOZR and SHC Thank this. -
Saw some $4 a mile light loads post on Landstar broker going down to Miami several weeks ago. Right near, at that time, a delivery point for me. So I figured I'd get $4.50 a mile to cover Bills cut and go to Miami for a change... Liftgate loads driver... so there went that idea.. if they post them at those kind of rates maybe a liftgate would be nice to have.. who out here has one? Hardly ever see one..

I don't know about liftgates, but I ran across this the other week concerning 53' crane vans. I'm not sure but I have pictured something with a rail down the middle of the ceiling and an electric winch type thing on it. Seems like finding backhauls would be sketchy if it didn't have full clearance for a forklift, but always kind of interesting what specialized opportunities are out there. http://savannah.craigslist.org/trp/3453025875.html

Only ones I've seen have been food service, rent-to-own and LTL LD vans - none of them 53'. I don't think you can legally put a liftgate on a 53' van due to length requirements?
-
Sure you can, they store under the rear of the trailer, or flat up against the doors and fall within the exemption.windsmith Thanks this.

I bought two specifically to do nursery stock runs for a customer about 2 years ago. Spot market liftgate work is not very frequent pays but pays very well though because they are not many people have them. One thing you need to remember is that they are heavy and expensive if I remember it cost my around $12k to put one a trailer.
