more than likely you will have to get the spring. the one i bought about 2 months ago had the weak one in it!
-
whats the numbers on the stronger spring?

# 339-4983

is this something a guy with some mechanical knowledge can do in their driveway? do u get the spring from the dealer or can it be gotten aftermarket?
-
get from the cat store, and yes you can do it in the driveway. just dont loose the valve at the other end of spring when you take the spring out.
-
The new spring can be a pain to get the threaded nut back on.

this new spring will boost the fuel pressure to where it should be for a factory 550? im always looking to see if i can get better fuel mileage. i have the fuel and boost wires on and they seemed to have helped some. at least till the winter fuel started.

went to get the 316-6863 pump and 339-4983 spring kit yesterday. The pump has been updated to 384-8611, this pump comes with the 339-4983 spring installed. before install pressure at idle 75-76 @ 1900 89-90. after install idle 81-82 @ 1900 99-101. It was an easy driveway install. This was on a 6NZ
