Yea most otr guys hav no clue. They wouldn't hav a clue how to build chain ramps and knock pins out to roll a load off. You'll notice when you haul pipe in tubs it always stacked with the boxes to the back of th tub. Usually if it's been stuffed on you with a bed truck the boxes will be to the front, which is hy a lot of guys load it loos with the boxes to the front.

There is a company in Australia that invented a c hook that you run strap through to belly strap.you place it up on top throw strap under and up both sides to hook. They also make one for chains as well. Tested to twice load rating of straps/chains.

We don't use straps with a loop like that, how would we use that? Very interesting design, could definitely be used on certain loads. I don't like the gap in some of those pictures between the two pallets however.

Also that strap choker is for 2" straps. We rarely use 2" straps, almost everything is 4".

Those straps don't have a loop either. They create the loop with their device. Would come in really handy on some loads.

I got it now, the straps are attached to both sides. One could even use a choke on each side and some sort of looped strap on top. That would really get it tight.

Interesting devices. As Allan states though, we use mostly 4 inch straps (100mm). Also, I don't see any kind of WLL (Working Load Limit) rating on them, such as G70 for a Grade 70 rating for chain or 2000 lb WLL for the 2 inch strap device. That would be a problem, here in the U.S., or Canada.

I cart concrete pipes every day out of manufacturer to sites, it's interesting what some think is good load restrain. We use 4" strips of rubber about 24' long run between layers of pipes. It does three things separate pipes it also grips pipe helps stop pipe moving out of centre of stack and ties whole stack together. We cart pipes from 1' to 12' in diameter from 200kg to 17000kg in weight. The biggest problem is the people that don't know how to cart them stuffing up and transport inspector give us a hell of a time. There is a nice picture on front of our load restrain guideline over here of a 5' /2500kg pipe sit on the side of road after falling off truck not far from where it was loaded.
