Got home for home time a day late. Picked up at Tyson in Waterloo on Saturday and the load was 1000 pounds over gross. Took them 2 1/2 hours to take off 1 pallet. Delivered that straight through to emporia. Dropped it and took an empty home. Ken called this morning and apologized for getting me home late. It happens, and I didn't miss the trans Siberian or orchestra concert I had tickets to, so it was all good. He gave me a few extra days, which is fine with me. Planned for Friday pick up out of emporia headed to Baton Rouge. By the way short cut, we don't unload furniture. We actually mostly haul reefer.

We don't unload any of our freight. Furniture or otherwise. The employees at the stores do all the unloading.

    At Houg?

to go with the drivers leaving. Don has over 100 apps of drivers waiting for a empty truck. That says something.

Yeah it says 9 out of 10 arent worth their salt. Cant find jobs or jump around and how many are available next week. 100 apps is not many as much as he advertises

I dont know as i dont work there but i certainly can cheerlead for don. He is going to see if someone can just swing by and deliver me out to denver. So never know.. If any of you guys are coming through arkansas.. You may just be my ride.
So i can back don up all day long. He has done nothing but cater to me this whole process.. But then again, i have no problem with waiting and what not, as i have only don reefer my entire 3 1/2 years.. A 2 hour unload or load is fast to me.. Lol. I once set 3 days at a chicken plant in bfe alabama waiting to load.. And didnt see a dime of detention as shaffer didnt charge tjat paticular customer detention, therefore the driver wasnt eligible for it.

I ran for Houg as an owner op and they are an ok company. I would not hesitate to go back to them. However I like it here a little more..
