at usx you can turn down nyc
-
Good stuff, although I hate the NE to death as is I can't complain about it too much because it's just part of the job. I mean I guess we all just have to remember before we really start complaining about companies, "We picked the job the job didn't pick us" or something to that effect. But NYC, WHOLE nother discussion, if you don't know your way around there you might definitely have a problem and quickly. No thanks, as far as I can say $100. extra? Not this driver.

Are you leasing from USX or did you have your truck already? If you leased from them are you making any money? Loads pay ok? I tried leasing three times now #1 with Prime- crappy paying loads/ operation cost's through the roof and nothing but trouble from the equipment (not taken care of properly) #2 CRST Malone- Crappy Equipment out of the gate/Low paying loads again (if you can find one)/ Not paying me $800.00 they owe me for a load they screwed up #3 T & T Farms- Great Company/ Good Paying Loads / Lease truck was a nightmare with issues (2010 Volvo 730 w/ auto Trans), stayed in a hotel more than rolling, had to go.

o/o. never did the lease thing
miles are ok and the pay is great BUT you need to understand the our truck has usx on the side and the trailer has usx on it but usx has no control over us..
we run for a sub-agent.. we have our own fm's, lp's and pay scale... the only time we move usx loads is when we don't have a load in the area.... if i get the right loads i running solo can make more it 2 days than a company team makes a week (i've done it)
can a l/o make what we do NO, they can't run the loads we get, can a o/o make what we do MAYBE and thats a big maybe..Solidarity Thanks this. -
I've read alot of negative stuff about usx. Im sure with the number of drivers they have and the numbers that quit some are going to be very unhappy. Im going to start driving for them Wed and was hoping its not all as bad as it sounds? Anyone happy to work for them and why?

Also what are there trucks like inside I've only ever driven older trucks never had the chance to drive one with all the "fancy" electronics.

USX trucks have a drivertech gps/elog computer
That is used to get and send messages and load info.
Also has a 7 inch monitor to see the passenger blind
side. Also has a 5th wheel release in cab and built in radar
That works with your cruise to keep safe following distances.
All new trucks are 10 speeds. We love it at USX, but no company
is perfect.91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Most of the trucks are clean and don't have too many issues. USX likes to take care of their equipment. Some drivers may grumble at the inspection lanes at Tunnel Hill (& wherever else they may be now), but I think it's about time. The trailers need work!
The driver techs are hit/miss. Sometimes they are a little behind you, say weird things, tell you to turn when you shouldn't, etc. so try to get your own when you can. Loved the blind side cameras. Saved my butt a couple times.
USX is a good starter company, IF you get a good FM. Don't be afraid to speak up if you feel something isn't right. And use the message system for any issues you have. Helped me a few times. If you use the phone, there is no record, therefore didn't happen. Like ATL said, all companies have their issues, but I would go back to USX (and might since the job I left there for is ending unexpectedly).
Hope that helps!91B20H8 Thanks this.
