Lol yep six months from June to November. They had 8 week class but it was from 8am-11pm 6 or 7 days a week and it costs more.

Your kids teachers didn't know what they were talking about. A permit is generally accepted as long as a licensed driver is in the front seat...only a handful of states won't acknowledge out-of-state permits.

Ok here is the promised update. My nephew got a weekend hometime, and brought up the training issues with a supervisor. He said supervisor seemed concerned, but all that happened is he was told he would have to stay with that trainer (who is now mad at him?), and the trainer started telling him he could only train every other week or so. It sounds like a punishment for complaining.

This accident going through Donner's Pass had a trainee driving with the instructor asleep in back. I believe the driver had his CDL, not learners permit.
