They should start sendin people for truck assignments to Taylor due to combined events (North East fleet disbanded, lots of new students, insulting $0.01 pay raise) Taylor has nearly 15 empty trucks ready to go and are averaging 5-7 trucks getting turned in every week. Terminal staff is dreading after holidays as a lot of people move on then anyway and are worried they will be getting 20+ trucks a week turned in by drivers leaving w/ no place to put them. Rumor is some smaller North east companies are offering 42 CPM t start and 46 CPM w/ in the first year for Conway truckload drivers to move to them and be able to run the north east and Churchill of Detroit is offering extra sign on bonuses to CWTL's FAST certified drivers that run Canada to switch.
Seems there is a fire sale style grab for experience CWTL drivers that were hired before we were a training company and other companies are willing to pay to get us to go to them now that CWTL has chosen to move in the "starter company/student company" direction and away from experienced quality drivers and premium service direction. I think supply and demand might be working in the drivers favor for once. I have a feeling sooner rather then later CWTL will shut down their Taylor terminal due to lack of Canada Dedicated drivers with credentials to run FAST & CT-PACT loads willing to work here when all their competitors are outright finding their experienced drivers at shippers/recievers/truck stops and bluntly saying "I don't care what you make, if you have the credentials we will pay you more, bring us customers and we will give you a bonus, sign up now and we will give you sign on bonus money"
Conway Truckload Drivers what is your 20?

In Joplin for a break. mega things wrong with trailer...lol....got it in Laredo. Abs wires clipped, leaking airbag and somethin so loose that the tech was shocked I made it here without it falling off. (Don't remember what it was). Got a pm on the truck and the windshield replaced from a rock I picked up. Time for some sleep finally. Oh yes.....1 complaint. Is there any other interpretation of "24 hour no idle zone" that someone can fill me in on? Just wondering since the wonderful o/o that I was next to seems to think the sign is a suggestion.

Trapped in Taylor for a restart. Did all the heavy lifting getting a load out of Quebec, thru snow and ice storm, consigneee didn't have empties so had to mess around in Montreal, did I mention broken windshield wiper on driver side in the storm, and ran out of hours when I get back on US time. Someone else is getting the easy part and longer miles of the load. Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you.
The bright spot is great chinese buffet with awesoe sushi 2 miles away! Hoping for a good weekend run to salvage the week. Check out that buffet gang, right on Eureka, aboout 2 miles down, in plaza across from big Chevy dealer.
