I've done both and prefer elogs. I look at elogs as both a curse and a blessing. One of the bad sides is your close to home(within 100 miles) and have to shut down for a 10 hour break is an example. The blessing is it will eventually force companies to set realistic appointment times is one blessing. I believe ELogs will manadorty within the next 5 years or so.

Paper is the only way to go for the drivers that know the difference from working for Money and working for free. I personally go out and earn my money and then go home and have family time while the guys running E-logs are still sitting at some podunk truckstop working for free. Unless the gov'mint pays for the EOBRs and pay for the service then they will never be mandated upon everyone in the industry.

That's one thing I like about them as well. Makes these planners get off their butt and have something ready for you before you are empty so you can know how to plan your trip. Now sometimes it doesn't work out like that or you may get held up and lose that load but for the most part. When I was on Paper companies took their time with planning you, and then you were expected at the last minute to go get it. So now if the companies want to make money. They have to do a better job at planning so the trucks can keep moving.

You are one of the driver that know nothing about e-logs and just blowing off, I read two or 3 guys say they make better money on e-logs and you say they are not working come on. I happen to be one of them that refused to get on elogs and when I finaly did I actually gained time, because if I didn't use 15 mins fueling I didnt have to log 15 mins. It logs actual mins.

Richhawn you have to remember Volvo driver is an owner operator so they are known to push the pen and do those 1,000 mile a night trips. So of course not working 100 hours in a week is not working.

Whats funny here is you put in more hours than I do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis but yet I am paid for my time and if I am not getting paid for that time the E-logs say I can't move than I am sitting at home while you are putting in your "hours" for free.

Any driver that thinks he makes more money on E-logs never ran to his potential while on paper and now that he is forced to run E-logs he is making more money because he is being watched by the company closer. Lets breakdown your hours worked while on E-logs and your pay and You are most likely making $12 per hour or less. Woo hoo that something to be proud of there let me tell you. I haven't put in much over a 1,000 mile week in for a very long time. Agian I am out here to make money not to work on E-logs for free.

I run around 50 hours a week and then go home. I haven't taken a 34 restart on the road for at least 4 years. I haven't used my 70 hours in a long time also. Dinomite how you like running against a clock to make a living?
