Thanks for that link. Quality looks decent! But I'm curious what the experienced van drivers have to say. Is this a good investment?

I don't have steel toe. I do have extra pair of shoes in case one gets soaked or muddy. I have a barn coat and hoodies to wear underneath. A good pair of warm work gloves or good liners, as the metal handles for the doors and landing gear are frozen and dirty, as well as a pair of gloves for fueling (goes for everyone) unless you like smelling diesel on your hands for days.

It would be an efficient way to get people to start splitting coils. but.. it would bankrupt every terminal of steel tarps.Treefork Thanks this.

I agree, it is the reason I center load, I am not going to do twice the work for the same amount of pay.pimarine and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

Im not experienced but I am in my own truck now. I bought jacket before I came to orientation made by Hawke & Co. Its two layers and got it for a nice steal at 39.99 the regular price was close to 400 dollars. Its all black though. Waterproof, snow proof and keeps me warm.Nottoway Thanks this.

I'm glad you guys came to roehl but let's not clutter up this thread with a bunch of questions please. Btw it is really cold in Wisconsin! 9* with snow and ice.

Sorry to say this, but that's kind of a jerk thing to say. Drivers exchanging information is what helps everyone learn and become better drivers. It doesn't matter what thread it's on. You never know when YOU might be the one who needs help or information. These threads sometimes wander from their original topic, but that's not a bad thing, just a conversation that changed course, just like a real face to face conversation. Go with the flow. I hope my saying this doesn't piss you off, but I don't want any of the new drivers to feel they can't ask a question just because they aren't on the right thread.Newtrucker83, DaytonaDoug, sjtrucker and 4 others Thank this.

i agree thats kinda the reason for this forum. from what ive seen most of the guys here are brand new to roehl or looking to come here.Last edited: Dec 12, 2012
pimarine, Nottoway, cheflee and 1 other person Thank this. -
I wear basketball shorts or cargo shorts and a t shirt. i have a coat to throw on. and i do bring other warm clothes but havent used it yet. Van drivers dont normally have to much stuff to do outside that will take more than 10 or 15 minutes. Gloves are good though for fueling. i just got the cheapest work gloves at walmart and they last 6 months until i got a new pair. if ure flatbed u probly need alot more warm stuff i would think. but it comes down for me what im most comfortable in. just like mr cartmen i do what i want.

I would agree. My trainer was and still is awesome!! I can call him any time with any and I mean ANY question about ANYTHING, and he will always take my call, even when he is at home. Ive ben out on my own for about a month now and believe me at first you will have a ton of questions, and even if you don't get a trainer that is willing to go the extra mile to help you out, I have yet to come across a fellow Roehl flat bedder that has not been willing to help me out or answer my questions when I have asked
