Never heard anything about cold temps...that's a new one. The 5k usually has a thicker coil so you don't melt it down so quickly by running 15kw thru it. But then again by that time anyone anywhere near that much power would probably have already fried their last brain cell, so...

In reading the web site, the only difference I see is that the 5K has heavier wire in the coil.
The Wilson web site talks about coils getting iced up in the 5K info, but they're comparing it to open coil antennas. Both the 2K and 5K are the same base design, so I don't see where one would be any different than the other. -
ahh ok, thats my bad, I just found it odd that it talked about that in the 5k but didnt mention it anywhere for the 2k. but i just looked it over and saw that it was in comparison to the open coils. My bad ha. good thing i havent ordered my 5k yet. Ill probably switch it to the 2k

Easy (sleazy?) way for them to get an extra $20 out of you...
Danger07 Thanks this. -
As I said earlier I own both and there is no difference in performance. The only difference is how many watts they will take.
Big_m Thanks this.
