Do an application online with Paschall Truck Lines & explain what happened. Follow up with a phone call.

I browsed a few sites earlier today and last night. I did come across some that specified suspensions in their qualifications, and some that specified that if the suspension was for a non-moving violation they were not concerned with it (along with other reasons for having a suspension). I'm just going to have to dig a little more to find those that look further into why it was suspended, i know most just see the suspension and dont care after that point and I understand that.

I would spend the time to call the NY DMV and see if this can be straightened out. If the license actually was valid (and you can prove so), get the "suspension" removed from your record.

called them, they wont change it. i still had the license plates and did not have insurance on the vehicle they said the only way it would change was if I could prove that i had insurance, which I didn't and I didn't leave a forwarding address so they had no way to contact me. The license in the other state was valid, I woked at the post office as a mail carrier using my license during that 5 yrs, it didn't affect my current license at all, until I went to upgrade to my CDL permit, then they said no we cant change it you have a ticket in NY, thats when I found out about it and paid it, and once it was paid thats when it showed up as a suspension on my MVR

That's what I'm saying ... if a trucking company uses HireRight they will obtain the driver's MVR and the suspension will show on the report and there's nothing the driver can do or say to get it changed other than to hire the company that tries to clear up errors on HireRight records and hope for the best. Thanks for the info.

Did you get plates and insurance in your new state for the vehicle or did you sell the vehicle? Either way, there should be a paper trail and a lawyer should be able to help you out.

Several states, such as Florida, suspend your license when your insurance lapses on your vehicles. They usually send a notice first (but not always) and give you 30 days to correct it. The only way around this in Florida is to return the plates/tags to the DMV (at least in Florida) and sign an affidavit that your vehicle(s) is/are non-operable. I'd check your license status if I were you.

like 900 said, some states dont care, colorado doesnt care if you keep their plates, i went to turn in my motorcycle plates after i had sold my bike and they looked at me like i was crazy and said they didnt want them back. In NY, if you have possession of the plates, you better have insurance whether its on a vehicle or not. once the insurance is off, they notify the state and NY wants those things back asap when that happens
