watch yourself if you are thinking about going to lease a truck at colonial freight systems, the truck notes are not going to be what they tell you at recruiting. and don't even think that they give a darn about you because they don't. I was a contractor with them. they tried to get me to dead head all over the place to get low paying freight. I broke my foot on the job, called them and reported it, went to the hospital and got a cast called on Monday and it took me saying I was going to get a lawyer just to get there insurance to call me. after I told them what happened they denied my workmans comp. now I cant work they keep charging me for insurance even though my truck has been turned in and I don't have a job! all this has happened right before Christmas, merry freekin christmas

Amen driver. Sorry to here what happened. The Thurmer family helped build that company many years ago and I was one of their 10 drivers back in the early 90's. Jot Raymond in recruiting and those in the office had a beef with me and came up with a b/s excuse to try to get me fired so I quit. Tommy and Jon Mark Thurmer also saw the true colors of the company and pulled all 10 of their trucks after about 20-30 years with CFS. They always find a reason to back out of any deal but hold u to your end. The Thurmers did 10 times better after they left CFS and became a real success so can u. Dont give up cause of one b/s company. Again, sorry how they did u. Was wrong timing too. Hold ur head hogh cause u r better than they r. Hope ur foot heals quick so u can bounce back and show em. Good luck driver and be safe out there. Take care.

If you're a contractor, how do you claim workers compensation? That makes you an employee.

Self employed drivers normally carry occupational insurance. If I have a claim, I deal directly with them. My name is on the policy. Too bad you haven't any. Get well soon.

I heard he was found over and then went out to his rig and got a knife then reentered scale house and threatened them with knife? I may be wrong though?
